How long does it take to recover from haemorrhoid surgery?


Haemorrhoid surgery removes swollen blood vessels inside or around the anus and rectum. Doctors refer to these swollen vessels as haemorrhoids. Recovery from haemorrhoid surgery is a gradual process. Recovery time varies depending on the procedure, type of anaesthesia, your general health, age, and other factors. After undergoing haemorrhoid treatment, patients are generally put back on a liquid diet in the next 4-5 hours. Patients are generally sent home the day after the surgery and are asked to avoid putting a strain on their body for a week or two.
